Information we collect
Depending on how you work with Ellery, we may receive contact details; the contents of inquiries and correspondence; household or role requirements; résumés and work histories; interview notes; references; employment-verification information; and search or placement records.
Our hosting, security, and communications providers may also process standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, and server logs needed to operate and protect the site.
How we use information

Clients, professionals, and references
Information is shared between a client and a professional only when it is relevant to a search or placement and consistent with the purpose for which it was provided. Reference conversations are used to assess professional history and fit; Ellery limits disclosure of reference information to what is appropriate for the search and applicable law.
Background screening
Some searches may call for third-party background screening. When a consumer-reporting or screening provider is used, any required disclosure, authorization, and related process is handled in accordance with applicable law. Requirements can vary by jurisdiction and by the type of report.
Service providers and legal disclosures
Ellery may use service providers for website hosting, forms, email, document storage, communications, security, and screening. They may process information only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, protect rights or safety, or address fraud or security concerns.
No sale of personal information
Ellery does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If our practices change, this notice will be updated before the change is applied where required.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including search administration, placement support, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Ellery uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, but no system can be guaranteed completely secure.
