Search engagements
Website content describes Ellery’s general approach. A client search begins only after Ellery and the client agree to a separate written engagement. That engagement controls the scope, fees, timing, replacement or support terms, and other commercial terms for the search.
Professionals and opportunities
Professionals do not pay Ellery to apply, interview, be represented, or be placed. An introduction to Ellery does not create employment, agency, or a promise of an interview, client introduction, or placement. Employment terms, where a placement occurs, are determined by the client and professional unless a written agreement states otherwise.
Candidate and search information
Ellery works to verify information relevant to a search, but résumés, references, public records, third-party reports, and statements from other people may contain errors or omissions. Clients remain responsible for their own hiring decisions and for any diligence required by law or by their circumstances.
Background screening
If a search includes third-party background screening, the screening process is subject to the law applicable to the report, the role, the client, the professional, and the jurisdiction. Required disclosures, permissions, notices, or other procedures must be completed before or during screening as applicable.
Confidentiality and sensitive information
Ellery treats search and professional information with discretion, but the public website and general inquiry form are not intended for highly sensitive documents. Do not send Social Security numbers, financial account data, medical records, passports, government identification, or similar material through the general inquiry form unless Ellery has provided a secure method and requested it.
No professional advice
